Supreme Court allowed sales and firing of green crackers in Telangana
The government on Friday ordered the closure of Crackers shops following orders from the Telangana High Court on Thursday. The Telangana Crackers Association has approached the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court on Friday issued interim orders amending the High Court’s judgment on Thursday banning fireworks in Telangana. The Supreme Court has allowed the firing of green crackers in Telangana. It is learned that the High Court on Thursday imposed a ban on buying and selling of crackers along with firing.
The Telangana Crackers Association has filed a lunch motion petition in the Supreme Court challenging this. The Supreme Court, which received it for trial, issued key directions. The Supreme Court commented that the High Court verdict should be subject to the judgment given by the National Green Tribunal a few days ago on the issue of burning postage stamps.
Only allowed to green crackers in Telangana. Similarly traders are told to sell only green crackers. However, the National Green Tribunal ruled that the purchase, sale and firing of crackers would take place. Only green crackers should be allowed to be environmentally friendly.
On the other hand Diwali says crackers should be allowed to bake for only two hours a day. The apex court said that the Telangana government should notify and announce the number of hours. Sales have picked up again after the Telangana Crackers Association got a seat in the Supreme Court.
