Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI), the brain child of our Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was established in the year 2016 with the vision of emerging as a world class institution for professional Forestry Education and Research.
The first batch was started in the year 2016 at TSFA Dulapally with 49 students from various places of Telangana state mostly from rural Telangana. On 12th Dec 2020 a new campus at Mulugu, Siddipet District was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister of Telangana State.
FCRI has successfully completed its first four-year BSC. (Hons.) Forestry batch in June 2020. Dr. G. Chandrashekar Reddy, Dean FCRI said the mission of FCRI is to focus on learning for every student every day and Learning is reflected in both achievements of the students and the growth of an institution. FCRI students enjoyed many successes in both national and international examinations.

5 Students of FCRI toppers in Banaras Hindu University Entrance examination
Banaras Hindu University is a Central University which is established exactly 100 years before the FCRI. The BHU entrance examination for admission in to M.Sc. Agroforestry is topped by the Mr. Venkateshwar Reddy by securing the first rank.

B.Venkateshwar Reddy secured all India 3rd Rank, Husna Taqveem secured all India 8th rank, Ch. Bhargavi secured all India 14th rank and 8th rank in OBC, Amith Reddy secured all India 1st rank in PH category, Indu Kale secured 5th rank in SC category, Anish Secured 6th rank in SC category, Tejasri secured 6th rank in OBC category, Kalyani P secured all India 29th rank and 15th rank in OBC.

2 girls from FCRI got admission to Auburn University Alabama
Surya Deepika and B. Suharsha got admission into auburn university for the MSc in Forest genetics and Wood Science and Technology respcetively. The two years study program at auburn will be without tuition fee. In addition to the waiving off 15000 dollar annual tuition fee, both of them have been offered 1500 dolllar per month Scholarship for two years.
Placement in industries like Sirpur Paper Mill (SPM) as an Officer trainee.
As the BSc. Hons. Forestry degree provides professional forestry education for 4 years, placement drive was conducted for the passed-out batch with the SPM.
Admissions at FCRI, Mulugu:
B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry education at FCRI imparts knowledge of 62 subjects encompassing 180 credits. Apart from class room instructions students are imparted with Experiential Learning covering Industrial attachment, Wildlife Attachment and Forest Range Attachment. Every year students are also exposed to various kinds of landscapes, educational & training institute and Industries as part of Telangana tour, South India and North India tour.
Higher education guidance for ICAR, FRI, Entrance examination of Central universities, Guidance for higher education abroad, Guidance for civil services examinations, etc. is given to students at FCRI. Effectiveness of the academic system to ensure that students learning experiences yield meaningful learning opportunities for each student based upon their unique needs and Continued examination and revision of curriculum as per need and assessment and instruction at all grade levels carried out at Forest College and Research institute. MSc. Forestry at FCRI is beginning from the 2020 academic year.
This premier institute consists of seven departments encompassing 14 laboratories and other world class facilities like seminar halls, auditorium, sports complex. Research and extension activities in FCRI are supported by 196 ha of Research Complex. There are 12 permanent faculty members from different states specialized in different disciplines at FCRI, bringing experience from 15 Universities in India and abroad.
The hard work put up by our students and the quality education imparted by the institute is reflected in the achievements of our students. The real success of FCRI could be documented from the fact that it has helped empowering the students especially from the rural areas of Telangana state.

Director DCF Srinivas was instrumental in the success of the college by working on the suggestions and advice of superiors. Since the inception of FCRI, Dean Chandrasekhar Reddy has been a pioneer in providing full services to the students in the field of college development.
