‘GITAM’ as a platform for foreign students
GITAM University has gained special recognition not only in the country but also abroad for providing education with world class educational standards in higher education. This is evidenced by the fact that 108 students from 27 countries around the world are currently pursuing higher education in various courses at GITAM University
Visakhapatnam: About 108 foreign students from 27 countries have opted GITAM Deemed to be University to pursue their higher studies during the academic year 2020-21.
The student selection was based on an online entrance examination conducted through the government initiated ‘Study in India’ programme, said GITAM Foreign Student Affairs Director K P C Kishan. 4,000 students appeared for the online proctored test Ind-SAT to seek admission, he added. The Ind-SAT scores will serve as a criterion to shortlist the meritorious students for the allocation of scholarships.
Kishan further informed that even during the pandemic situation, the institution received good response from South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and Gulf countries and most foreign students evince interest in joining science and engineering streams. The institution is planning to admit another 50 foreign students before closing the admission schedule.
