AP: Crop loss in 29,752 hectares: Minister Kannababu
Agriculture Minister Kursala Kannababu said 29,752 hectares of crops across the state were damaged due to the four-day rains on November 23 and 26. He told the media that the Cabinet had a wide-ranging discussion on the impact of Hurricane Nivar, rains in the state and crop damage.

Nellore, Prakasam and Rayalaseema districts received 288.8 mm of rainfall between November 23-26, officials said. It received 188 per cent more rainfall than normal. The highest rainfall was recorded in Nellore 2, Chittoor 5, YSR Kadapa 2 and Prakasam 1mm recorded.
According to preliminary information received so far, 664 houses have been submerged and 673 houses have been damaged, officials said. Authorities said 147 relief camps had been opened. More than 10,000 people were on board, officials said.

In Prakasam district 10,300 hectares, in Chittoor 10,166 hectares, in YSR Kadapa district 4886 hectares and in Nellore 4400 hectares, the crop was damaged, officials told the ministry. It was revealed that horticultural crops were also damaged in 1371 hectares. In Prakasam and Chittoor districts, 175 km of roads were damaged, four places were hit and power supply was disrupted, officials said.
