Ind vs Aus: 2nd T20 India won by 6 wickets
After the 2-1 setback in ODIs for the visitors, Team India bounced back in the T20Is and on Sunday has sealed a 2-0 unassailable lead in the 3-match series. After the 3rd ODI win in Canberra, India put the winning momentum into use in the 1st T20I at the same venue on Friday. Ravindra Jadeja and his concussion substitute Yuzvendra Chahal played a vital role in India’s win in the 1st T20I.
However, concussed Jadeja’s absence was a concern for India at the start of the 2nd T20I on Sunday, at the SCG. After Australia, who were asked to bat first in the absence of captain Aaron Finch, posted 194 runs in the 1st innings, India successfully chased it down with significant contributions from Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya. It was Pandya (42* off 22) who stayed till the end and powered India to a 6-wicket win in Sydney.
Fans have thus hailed the prolific all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is primarily in the team for his batting role, as a finisher and have compared him with the great MS Dhoni. After all, Pandya did stand up in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja, when the team needed him the most.
With 6 runs required off the final 3 deliveries, Hardik Pandya hit a six off Daniel Sams to finish off the 195-run chase with style and fans couldn’t help but praise the Dhoni-like approach
