Madras IIT under temporarily lockdown as more than 100 students, staff tested positive for Covid-19
The Madras IIT has been temporarily kept under lockdown, as more than a hundred students and staff are reported to have tested positive for Covid-19 infection since the beginning of this month.
The Tamil Nadu Health principal Secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan who visited the premises asked the public not to be complacent in following the safety protocols against the viral spread.
He reiterated the importance of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing and said the lack of it led to the IIT incident. The affected people are undergoing treatment.
