Recently NTPC Simhadri Deepanjalinagar Township has been modernized with many facilities to the employees, one of the welfare measure of children’s of employee is development of age old 7 banyan trees in the township.
These banyan trees were made lively with lot of facilities like natural banyan tree root swings, made play ground with sand under the banyan tree, LED lighting facility etc. With the this management innovative thinking
These seven banyan trees were also named as “saptarishiss”:
Atri is a Vedic sage, who is credited with composing numerous hymns to Agni, Indra and other Vedic deities of Hinduism. Atri is one of the Saptarishi in the Hindu tradition, and the one most mentioned in its scripture Rigveda
Bharadwaja He was a renowned scholar, economist, and physician. His contributions to ancient Indian literature,specifically the Puranas and Rig Veda, provide significant insight into ancient Indian society.
Gautama Maharishi; Gautama is prominently mentioned in the Ramayana and is known for cursing his wife Ahalya, after she had relationship with Indra. Another important story related to Gautama is about the creation of river Godavari, which is also known as Gautami
Jamadagni : He is the father of Parashurama, the sixth incarnation of Vishnu. He was a descendant of the sage Bhrigu, one of the Prajapatis created by Brahma, the God of Creation.
Kashyapa is a revered Vedic sage of Hinduism. He is the most ancient Rishi listed in the colophon verse in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad.
Vasishtha – is credited as the chief author of Mandala 7 of the Rigveda His ideas have been influential and he was called the first sage of the Vedanta school of Hindu philosophy by Adi Shankara.He also acted as a priest for “Raghuvansha”.
Vishvamitra is one of the most venerated rishis or sages of ancient India. A near-divine being, he is also credited as the author of most of Mandala 3 of the Rigveda, including Gayatri Mantra.
