Union Coal Minister Joshi lauds Singareni Yellandu Solar Power Plant on Twitter
“Coal Town Yellandu will be developed as a solar power generation hub in the future,” Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Twitter. Ellandu described the solar power plant as a ‘photovoltaic solar power plant’.
CMD Sridhar and other officials expressed their happiness over Minister Joshi’s congratulations.
Singareni on the one hand is producing record levels of coal and on the other hand is focusing on greener power generation. Has gradually gained a foothold in solar power generation.
The company, which has plans to generate 800 MW of solar power, is moving in that direction. As part of this, Ramagundam has already synchronized 3-15 MW, MNG-30 MW, STPP-10 MW -total -55MW. 500 MW of solar power initiated the setting up of floating power plants. To this end, it is planned to utilize the water resources available in the state, especially reservoirs.
However, with the special attention of CMD N Sridhar, the construction work of the Ellandu solar power plant gained momentum. Authorities are working to prepare on time. The Manuguru plant of 30 MW was completed by taking all precautions.
Singareni Collieries Company Limited has outlined plans to set up 800 MW of solar power projects in Telangana, which includes 500 MW of floating solar capacity, across its reservoir in thermal plant and other water bodies.
