MPSC on Tourism and Culture meet several delegations in J&K
The members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee (MPSC) on Transport, Tourism and Culture, who are on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, yesterday met several delegations.
Besides the 31-member panel, Minister of State at the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh, and Member Parliament from Srinagar, Dr Farooq Abdullah, are also present during the meetings.
The Committee initially met a delegation of Kashmir Chambers of Commerce and Industry KCCI during which the issue of frequent closure of the Jammu-Srinagar Highway was brought to their notice. President, KCCI, Mohammad Yasin Khan, later told the media that the chamber urged the committee to take immediate steps to make the highway an all-weather road.
