Telangana: Forest clearance should be expedited for road construction works
A review meeting was held at Aranya Bhavan today on the construction of national and state highways passing through different parts of the state of Telangana, the speedy past works and the latest status of rapid forest clearances. PCCF R. Shobha, National Highways Agency Advisor AK Jain attended. The approvals of 29 roads, which are in various stages, were reviewed at the meeting mainly on progress.
Coordination between the two departments was discussed on expediting the work required for the first phase clearances and the second phase clearances. Sangareddy – Nanded – Akola, Hyderabad – Manneguda, Nizamabad – Jagdalpur, Manchiryala – Chennur, Hyderabad – Bhupalpally National Highways expansion and other road permits were discussed in detail at the meeting.
As well as greenery enhancement along all national highways, multi-level avenue plantation development models were discussed. It was decided to select areas a few kilometers along some roads and undertake multi-level avenue plantation as part of the pilot project, based on their results.
