NBA Appreciates Women PCCF’s Contribution in Conserving Biological Diversity
The National Biodiversity Authority celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8, 2021. Video conference set up on this occasion attended by women PCCF’s along with dignitaries from Himachal Pradesh, Telangana and other states, as well as representatives from national and international NGOs.
A program was organized by National Biodiversity Authority, on the eve of International Women’s Celebration, to highlight the priority, importance and celebrating women’s contribution in conserving Biological Diversity.
A National seminar was scheduled, with experienced and expert speakers, with vast subject on Biodiversity.
in first a Warm Welcome to all the dignitaries by Sh.J.Justin Mohan, Secretary, National Biodiversity Authority and continued with opening address by Dr. V.B. Mathur, Chairperson, national Biodiversity Authority and followed by Guest lecture by Ms.B.V.Umadevi, Additional Secretary, MoEFCC, new Delhi explaining the women contribution in the green activities.
Dr. Sejal Worah, Programme Director, WWF India, New Delhi and Dr. Savita, PCCF & HoFF, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and Ms. R.Shobha, PCCF & HoFF, Govt. of Telangana were among the dignitaries called upon the women dignity and participation and their contribution towards National Interest for role of hardship in conservation of protection of forests and wild life for ecological balance duly maintaining Biological Diversity. Collection of Video messages received from Women Conservation leaders were visualized on the screen by various National and International organizations.
Speaking in this occasion Ms R. sobha thanked the all women officers across the state and national wide who are working in hard conditions and saving the forests. She said it is not a easy task to a women to serve at home and going out to forest against the all odds. The explained various measures by Telangana forest dept initiatives to safe guard the forest and environment.
Dignitaries and head of states of shared their views and green enthusiast was also in the meeting. The program is concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Sangitha Mitra, Consultant, NBA.
