NTPC Simhadri organized Medical Camp at Vanabarangipadu
NTPC Simhadri organized a specialized Medical Camp at tribal village of Vanabarangipadu (G Madugula Mandal), Visakhapatnam Dist today in association with M/s.Helpage India (NGO) . The medical camp catered to 169 beneficiaries from villages of Ropalli, Kuttimili, Bangaru Budi, Ambalamamidi & Dhabbagaruvu.
Mr. Diwakar Kaushik, Group General Manager, Simhadri inaugurated the medical camp in presence of Head of HR, Mr. Prem Chand; CSR Team members Mr. K. Prakasa Rao, Mr. Ch. Rangarao & Ms. Charu Pathak, Sarpanch Mr. S. Hunmanthu Rao and helpage team headed by Mr. Mrinal. Mr. Diwakar Kaushik in his address assured villagers of further support in enabling access to primary health care services.
Through medical camp, NTPC Simhadri provided primary healthcare services encompassing community medicine, eye screening and dermatologist to the remote villages, which are still untouched by public healthcare system and the nearest primary healthcare centre is situated 19 kms away.
Under this initiative, 5 patients that need cataract surgery have been linked with Visakha eye hospital of Visakhapatnam and will be provided free cataract surgeries. To ensure sustainability of the initiative, the list of patients will also be shared with local health workers.
Medical health camp in such remote locations will enhance health seeking behaviour in the inhabitants of the above-mentioned villages and will also raise awareness about healthcare.
