Vizag Zoo: National Zoo Keepers three-day Training program concludes successfully
Visakhapatnam: The three-day National Zoo Keepers Training on Captive Management of Reptiles at Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam ended today. Participants from almost 40 zoo parks across the country enthusiastically participated in the event.
Basic biology of reptiles like turtles, snakes, crocodiles, etc. was explained with practical sessions during this three-day training program by Dr. Gowri Mallapur from Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi.
There are so many species of turtles, crocodile sand snakes. How to identify reptiles gender, and how to carefully collect their eggs are explained in a way that everyone can understand.
Dr. Gowri Mallapur answered the participants’ doubts after the sessions. Offline keepers along with online participants also listened to the sessions with interest. By this training session, they have learned many new practices which they previously doesn’t know, said participants from online & offline.
These type of training sessions hold be made to conduct more in the future, said Dr Sonali Ghosh, DIG, Central Zoo Authority. She congratulated all the team of IGZP on the successful completion of this event, it is the first of its kind event in the country by using technology, she said.

Certificates and special gifts were presented on behalf of Indira Gandhi Zoological Park to all the participants of the event.
