Vice President of India appreciated PCU for translating National Education Policy in Punjabi and Telugu Languages
Central University of Punjab(PCU) launched Telugu Version of NEP-2020
Bathinda, 17th March: After publishing the Punjabi Version of National Education Policy-2020, the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) in association with Vidya Bharathi organized the Inaugural Ceremony to launch the Telugu Version of NEP-2020. Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has appreciated the efforts of CUPB Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari for bringing out Punjabi and Telugu Versions of NEP-2020 for its effective understanding among the education community as well as Punjabi and Telugu speaking communities all across the world.
The distinguished speakers of the inaugural ceremony were Prof. Appa Rao Podile (Vice Chancellor, University of Hyderabad), Prof. T.V. Kattimani (Vice Chancellor, Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh and Member NEP-2020) and Shri K.N. Raghunathan (Vidya Bharati Uccha Shiksha Sansthan). CUPB faculty, staff members and students attended this programme through a virtual platform.
At the beginning, Prof. R.K. Wusirika, Dean In-charge Academics, welcomed the distinguished guests and put a light on the programme theme.
Prof. Appa Rao Podile while sharing his thoughts on the ‘Teacher’s Role in NEP-2020 Implementation’ emphasized that teachers are at the centre stage of NEP implementation and they will have to play an important role in making India ‘Vishva Guru’. He encouraged faculty members to devise innovative teaching methodology to provide value-based holistic education in the mother tongue language, vocational training for skill development and experiential & experiment-based learning to develop scientific temperament which can contribute towards the overall development of students.
Prof. T.V. Kattimani while applauding the efforts of CUPB Vice Chancellor and his team for publishing the Punjabi & Telugu Version of NEP-2020. He stated that the availability of NEP-2020 Policy documents in mother tongue languages will surely help in effective implementation.
Distinguished Speaker Shri K.N. Raghunandan asserted that NEP-2020 stressed that each stakeholder such as teachers, administrators, students and society has to participate and play their role for its effective implementation. He made an appeal to all educational institutions to formulate a task force for NEP-2020 Implementation and stressed that the proper implementation of key innovative reforms of NEP-2020 will surely help us to produce skill-based global intellectual workforce who can contribute towards building Aatmanirbhar India.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Tiwari in his presidential address, expressed his gratitude towards Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Shri K.N. Raghunandan for inspiring CUPB fraternity to publish NEP-2020 in Indian Languages. He added that the faculty and students of CUPB are working hard to accomplish this mission and in the near future team CUPB will also publish NEP-2020 in Odia and other languages. He asserted that NEP-2020 is learning centric as it strengthens the learning process. He gave the mantra of Reform, Perform and Transform to make the learning system of the nation more relevant. He assured that CUPB will implement all imperatives of NEP-2020.
During the inaugural ceremony Vice Chancellor launched Telugu Version of NEP-2020 by handing over the first book to a student belonging to Telangana. On this occasion, Dr. R.K. Chaitanya, Dr. Shashank Kumar, Dr. Narender Kumar, Mr. Dushyant Reddy and Mr. Manikanta were present.
