KBR Park Celebrated ‘World Sparrow Day’
Chief Whip Dassam Vinay Bhaskar launches Gift a Nest program for environmental protection from today.
Chief Whip Dassam Vinay Bhaskar said that birds, especially sparrows, have continued to be a part of human life and it is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that they do not become extinct. He was the chief guest at the World Sparrow Day celebrations at Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park (KBR Park).
Gift revealed that he will be launching a nest event to remind everyone of the importance of birds. Aspired to come the culture of giving plants as a gift at various ceremonies, day-to-day celebrations, and naturally prepared quail nests.
Ms. R. Shobha PCCF said that the forests and environment in Telangana have improved significantly due to the measures taken by the government and the forest department and the movement of animals and birds has also clearly increased compared to the past. She said that everyone remembers the days of playing with sparrows as a child and it was everyone’s duty to pass on those memories to the next generation.
Various events were held at KBR Park as part of the Sparrow Day. In addition to bird watching in the morning, conducted environmental awareness, do’s and don’ts of forest areas, distribution of algae, drawing for children, making slogans and signature campaigns. The event was attended by representatives of Hyderabad Birding Poles, Nature Lovers, Orugallu Wildlife Society, Hyderabad District Forest Officer Joji, Environmentalist G. Sailu, FRO’s Venkataiah, Mahesh Goud, KBR Park Management Staff and Walkers Association representatives.
