Odisha govt imposes restrictions on public observance of Dolayatra and Holi festivals
Odisha government has imposed restrictions on public observance of the upcoming festivals of Dolayatra and Holi across the state. In an order issued yesterday, the Special Relief Commissioner of the state has said that as a covid-19 contentment measure, festival of Holi on 28th and 29th of this month, shall not be observed in public places including public roads.
The Odisha government has urged people to keep their Holi celebrations confined to their family members. Though the covid-19 trajectory in the state is still under control, yet the daily positive cases swung beyond 100 yesterday after remaining confined within double digits for last many days.
Meanwhile, as part of its war against covid-19, the state has delivered more than 15 lakh doses of vaccines to the beneficiaries ever since the nationwide vaccination drive commenced from the 16th of January last.
