Hyderabad: Telangana forest dept celebrated International Day of Forest’s
World Forest Day was celebrated today under the auspices of the Telangana Forest Department. Minister of State for Forests and Environment Allola Indrakaran Reddy has called on everyone to do their part to protect the plants that nature needs for human survival. On the occasion of the International Forest Day, he wished all those who are caring for the plants.
On this occasion, the Minister said that this is the right time to rethink and redefine our relationship with nature, otherwise we will have to face situations where air and water will not be available in the future. He said that in order to protect ourselves, we must protect the planet.
He said that for the environment to be good, air, water and trees must be abundant. He said that ecological balance is possible only if there is at least 33 per cent forest cover on the earth, hence the Telangana government attaches high priority to environmental protection. He suggested that everyone plant a plant as a matter of duty on the occasion of their birthday to inspire everyone.
The event was attended by Ms. R. Shobha PCCF(HoFF), Forest officials and people from various communities.
