World Forest Day: Telangana Forest Dept entertained with awareness programs
The World Forest Day was celebrated by the Telangana Forest Department today. On this occasion, special programs were organized on behalf of the Forest Department in all the districts of the state including Hyderabad. Hyderabad Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park (KBR Park) is planted with walkers, family members of visitors, PCCF Ms. R. Shobha and senior forest officials.
Ms. R. Shobha PCCF said that the Telangana government was implementing a special operation to rehabilitate the degraded forests, along with a greening program under the slogan “Jungle Bachao Jungle Badao” with the aim of creating habitable environments and providing a heal thier environment for future generations. Awareness of forests and the environment among children is said to increase social awareness. No matter what celebration takes place in the family, on that occasion the children are asked to plant a plant and get into the habit of conservation them.
After that, the forest officials and staff participated in a special event held at Kandlakoya Oxygen Urban Forest Park in Medchal district. Students from Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI)Mulugu, along with representatives of various charities, plant sandalwood on an acre of land. A special awareness program on snakes was organized under the auspices of the Friends of the Snake Society. Members of the Hyderabad Birding Pals Society described bird watching and rare birds found in the Telangana region.
Special programs and rallies were organized in all the districts across the state to create awareness on the need for protection of forests, tiger sanctuaries and sanctuaries. The forest staff met with the people of the villages near the forest to create awareness on fire prevention and measures required for the protection of forest lands.
