AP: ‘Ban of Marine fishing ‘ due to prawn and fish breeding season
The Andhra Pradesh government has issued special orders banning hunting at sea. The Fisheries Commissioner has issued warnings to fishermen to this effect. The ban will be in force from April 15 to June 14, during which fishermen will not be allowed to go fishing in the sea and will have to abide by the rules imposed by the government in this regard.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh vide G.O. Rc no 92,AH,DD&F(Fish)Dept, dated 08-04-2021 of Animal Husbandry, dairy Development and Fisharies Deparment has issued Ban orders in Marine Fishing ie., Prohibition fishing activities in sea(in territorial limits of AP) from 15th April to 14th June,2021 (both Holidays inclusive) by all registered Vessels of entire coast of AP as per the powers vested with Govt under section 4 of AP Marine Fishing Regulations Act 1995.
The main objective of the orders is to observe the conservancy measures during breeding season of Prawan and fish.
All the fishermen are requested to observe the strictly “Ban of Marine Fishing” as was done in the previous years. In order to have good catches during post ban period and to sustain fishery wealth for future.
These fishermen boat owner who violates these orders will be penalized under law by way of seizure of their boats and catches besides levying heavy penalties under the provisions of the AP Marine fishing regulation Act.1995.
