Nagarjunasagar by-poll in Telangana on Apr 17

All arrangements are in place to ensure safe by-poll in Nagarjunasagar,Telangana on 17th of this month says Chief Electoral Officer of the state.

Addressing a media conference in Hyderabad this evening, the CEO, Shashank Goel said that over 2 lakh electors will be exercising their franchise between 7 am to 7 pm at 346 polling stations.

Over 5 thousand polling staff and security personnel have been deployed for ensuring smooth polling. Three balloting units, one controlling unit and a VVPAT will be used at each polling station as total 41 candidates are in the fray.

Meanwhile, election authorities have made special arrangements for Divyangs, elderly and COVID patients. About 8 thousand postal ballots have been issued and COVID patients can also cast their vote during the last hour between 6PM and 7PM on the polling day.

Stating that all arrangements for safe voting have been made, the CEO appealed to all electors to utilise their franchise. Each voter will be given a pair of hand gloves for casting vote.
