Chennai: Actor Vivekh passes away after suffering heart attack

The actor had a hundred-percent blood clot in his left artery and on Saturday the hospital officials said it may not be related to Covid vaccination.

CHENNAI: Actor Vivekh, who suffered a heart attack on Friday, passed away on Saturday 4.35 am, the hospital spokesperson said.

Vivekh suffered a massive cardiac arrest and had a 100 per cent blockage in one of the arteries. He will be monitored at the Intensive Care Unit for 48 hours.

Vivekh is still in critical condition and will be observed closely for the next 48 years, said the doctor from SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani. Also, he has tested negative for the novel coronavirus. Addressing the media, Vivekh’s doctor said that he was brought in unconscious at around 11 am today (April 16) after he suffered a massive heart attack at home. He was given first aid and an angiogram was performed on him to resuscitate him.

Hospital shares Vivekh’s health updates

Vivekh was rushed to the SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani after he fell unconscious at his home. The doctors revealed that his heart stopped while he was on his way to the hospital. He was given first aid to resuscitate. Vivekh’s doctors revealed that this is not a reaction to the Covid-19 vaccine, which he took yesterday (April 15).

The hospital also released a statement regarding Vivekh’s health. Further, the doctor revealed that this was Vivekh’s first heart attack.

Here’s the statement:

“Actor Padma Shri Dr Vivek was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state by 11 am today to the emergency by the family members. He was resuscitated in the emergency room by specialists. Later, he underwent Emergency Coronary Angiogram followed by Angioplasty. He is currently in critical condition on ECMO in the Intensive Care Unit.

“This an acute coronary syndrome with cardiogenic shock. This is a separate cardiac event. It may not be due to COVID vaccination (sic).”

Vivekh does not have Covid-19

Vivekh’s medical team confirmed that the actor tested negative for the novel coronavirus. Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Radhakrishnan, who addressed the media, confirmed that he suffered a massive attack and it has no link to the vaccine he took yesterday.

Vivekh took the first dose of Covaxin yesterday (April 16) at the Omandurar Government Hospital. He also requested everyone to get vaccinated following government rules.
