Union Health Secy writes to Central Ministries & PSUs to dedicate hospital beds for COVID-19 Management in states, UTs
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written to all Central Ministries and Public Sector Undertakings under them to dedicate their Hospital beds for COVID19 Management in States and Union Territories. He said, this will go a long way in addressing the shortage of beds being reported from some States.
Health Ministry said, the details of such dedicated Hospitals or Blocks will also be provided to the Public. Union Health Ministry has advised all central Ministries to issue instructions to the hospitals under their control or their PSUs to set-up exclusive dedicated hospital wards or separate blocks within the hospitals for Covid-19 Care as was done last year.

These Hospitals or Blocks should have separate entry and exit points for the management of COVID19 cases, to provide treatment services including specialised care for the confirmed COVID19 cases.
The dedicated hospital wards or blocks have to be equipped with supportive or ancillary services including Oxygen supported beds, ICU beds, ventilators, specialised CCUs wherever available, lab or imaging services, kitchen with dedicated health work force.
