Gautam Gambhir revealed that Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 1 crore to the crickter-turned-politician’s foundation for coronavirus relief. The actor recently recovered from Covid-19.
Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 1 crore to Gautam Gambhir’s foundation to help people affected by Covid-19. The cricketer-turned-politician took to Twitter to share the same with his fans and followers and thank the actor. He called him “a ray of hope” in the current situation. Akshay replied to Gambhir and wrote that he is glad that he could help.
Gautam Gambhir revealed on Twitter that Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 1 crore to the former cricketer’s foundation. The money has been donated to help people affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Gambhir wrote, “Every help in this gloom comes as a ray of hope. Thanks a lot @akshaykumar for committing Rs 1 crore to #GGF for food, meds and oxygen for the needy! God bless (sic).”
Akshay Kumar replied to Gautam Gambhir on Twitter and wished the crisis ends soon. He wrote, “These are really tough times, @GautamGambhir. Glad I could help. Wish we all get out of this crisis soon. Stay Safe (sic).”
The Ram Setu actor is among the celebrities who always comes forward to help whenever the country is in crisis. From donations for flood and earthquake victims to providing equipment and masks to healthcare workers fighting the pandemic, the actor did it all to people affected by the various calamities. Last year, he donated Rs 25 crore to PM CARES Fund for coronavirus relief and Rs 2 crore to Mumbai Police Foundation.
He had also donated Rs 1 crore each to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Kaziranga Park rescue mission when the state was affected by floods.
In 2015, he donated Rs 1 crore for the Chennai flood relief work. Similarly, he had earlier financially contributed to the relief work during Kerala Floods as well.
When Odisha was ravaged by Cyclone Fani, Akshay Kumar donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief fund to help the cyclone victims. Apart from all these financial helps, the actor continues to provide other kind of support whenever it is needed.
Akshay Kumar also recently tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to a Mumbai hospital. The actor has now recovered and is quarantining at his home with his family.
