AP: The High Court suspends APPCB orders: Big relief to Amar Raja Batteries Company
It is learned that the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board has issued a notice to Amara Raja Batteries Company to close two units belonging to Telugu Desam Party MP Galla Jayadev.
Amarrajah Group has approached the court announcing that it will fight the notice legally. The High Court, which heard the case, recently quashed the Amara Raja batteries belonging to MP Galla Jayadev.
Amar Raja Batteries has been targeted by the AP government in the wake of the arrest of TDP leader Sangam Dairy chairman Dhulipalla Narendra in the wake of a series of scams targeted by Amar Raja Batteries.
AP Goverment gave a shock. Amara Raja Batteries units at Bangarupalayam and Karakambadi in Chittoor district have been ordered to close due to non-compliance with pollution regulations.
More relief to Amar Raja in High Court
The Andhra Pradesh State Pollution Control Board has issued notices to close these units on the ground that water pollution caused by Amar Raja Batteries Company and lead in the air is increasing as the PCB orders have been suspended.
The High Court granted relief in favor of Amar Raja Company, which had challenged these orders in the High Court. The AP High Court has suspended orders issued by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board to close the company. Moreover, the High Court has issued orders to restore power.
The Pollution Control Board has directed the agency to implement the recommendations made by the Pollution Control Board by June 17 at the same time.
The court directed the state pollution control board to re-examine and report on whether the Pollution Control Board’s instructions were implemented after June 17.
The High Court also directed the Pollution Control Board to submit a report on the matter. The state apex court adjourned the next hearing to June 28.
Amar Raja company workers and employees expressed happiness over the latest orders of the High Court. At present, Amar Raja Batteries Company directly benefits up to 50,000 people and indirectly up to 50,000 people.
All the workers working in this company are deeply concerned with the issuance of orders to close the company. Amar Raja Company is doing business with a turnover of tens of thousands of crores per annum. Company employees and workers also suffocated with the latest court orders.
