Singareni to meet medical oxygen deficit: Establishment of 4 oxygen plants at a cost of Rs 2 Cr
Purchase of ventilators and other medical equipment for another Rs 3.15 crore: Company CMDN. Sridhar revealed.
Singareni has taken another crucial decision with the intention that Covid will not cause any disruption to emergency medical services. Singareni has decided to set up oxygen production centers at four hospitals. The company is setting up these plants at a cost of about Rs 2 crore, said CMD Mr. N. Sridhar. He made the revelation in a statement released on Tuesday.
Similarly, another Rs 3 crore 15 lakh has been earmarked for the purchase of ventilators and other emergency services medical equipment required for Covid centers.
These will be purchased immediately and supplied to hospitals.
The CMD said that the Covid wards and quarantine centers across Singareni are currently looking into the lack of oxygen but are setting up their own oxygen production centers as a precautionary measure to prevent any shortage of oxygen as cases are likely to increase in the near future.
These oxygen production centers will be set up at Bhadradri’s Singareni Main Hospital in Kottagudem, Singareni Area Hospital in Bhupalpally District Center, Ramakrishnapur Singareni Hospital in Manchiryala District and Singareni Area Hospital in Bellampalli, Komaram Bhim District. The CMD directed that the construction of these be completed within weeks.
These oxygen production plants, which will be set up on hospital premises, will produce 12 cubic meters of oxygen per hour. The oxygen they produce will be piped continuously to patients on the ward through a centralized oxygen distribution system set up in hospitals. So oxygen deficiency is unlikely to occur at all.
Meanwhile, the tender process for another large oxygen production plant to be set up in the Ramagundam area is nearing completion .The oxygen plant will produce 80 to 100 cylinders of oxygen per day. The plant is also expected to complete construction in six weeks.
