Hyderabad: The media plays a key role in changing the way people think about the coal sector
Central Coal Ministry Video Coalition Director (Pa, Finance) Mr. N Balaram reveals special role of media in Singareni upliftment
Director N. Balaram said that the media has played a key role in dispelling misconceptions among the people about the coal sector. He said the role of the media in saving the Singareni Company, especially in the wake of the 1998 crisis, would never be forgotten.
He said that Singareni was not only producing coal but was also promoting changes in the living conditions of the people of nearby villages and various welfare programs for the development of the villages through the Public Relations Department.
Union Coal Ministry Joint Secretary Bhavani Prasad Pati on Monday held a meeting with officials of Colindia and Singareni companies via video conference from Delhi. On this occasion, details were gathered from the officials of Colindia and Singareni Companies at a meeting held on the topic of “Extensive media campaign for change of views on the coal sector”.
At the meeting, the Director of the N. Balaram Kothagudem, GM Welfare, CSR K. Basavayya, Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad CPRO, GM (Coordination), K.Suryanarayana Rao, Chief Liaison Officer & PRO B.Mahesh participated.
Director N. Balaram said that Singareni is constantly taking the various programs of the company to the people through magazines, social media platforms and electronic media.
CPRO and GM Suryanarayana Rao said that they have launched a channel on YouTube exclusively under the name “Singareni Sairen” and are taking videos of Singareni’s environmental and social activities to the masses.
He said the Singareni Sravanti TV program was also informing the public about the welfare programs through Singareni information, wall magazines and leaflets. He said that he was constantly providing information to netizens through social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. He said in a video conference that the company has earned a good reputation not only for meeting the country’s energy needs but also for working for the development of the people with social responsibility.
On the occasion, the US Secretary of the Ministry of Coal said that they want to send reports on media planning and public relations strategies by the 24th of this month. The meeting was attended by Coal Ministry Advisor Sustainable Development Cell (SDC) RR Mishra, Head of Colindia affiliates, Colindia PR Division Sunil Kumar and PR of various subsidiaries.
