Karnataka: Govt will provide 25 oxygen concentrators to each district with a large number of Covid cases
Karnataka Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar has said that 25 oxygen concentrators will be provided to each district with a higher number of COVID cases.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru today, the Minister said that the state has received 800 concentrators recently which will be distributed to Hassan, Mandya, Chikkaballapur, Kolar and Chitradurga.
The Health Department is making efforts to provide ICU facility and oxygen in all the Medical colleges across the state.
The Chief Minister has decided to provide Rs 50,000 advance to all gram panchayats. Village task force committee will utilise this fund to shift Covid patients to Care centres, The Health minister has requested public representatives to participate actively in COVID containment activities.
He said that the positivity rate is at 27 per cent and the aim is to reduce it further by 5 per cent. Efforts are also made on reducing mortality rate. He informed that IIT Kanpur has provided data based research inputs and has also advised on this
