Bihar witnesses heavy rain for last 48 hours
Bihar is witnessing heavy rain across the state for the last 48 hours. A maximum of 251 mm rain was recorded at Manihari in Katihar district of the state. Rail and road traffic were disrupted at several places due to uprooting of trees.
After 14 hours, Air Traffic was restored this afternoon at Patna airport. The railways has cancelled 15 trains till tomorrow. Besides standing crops, Mango and Litchi crops were damaged in several districts due to strong winds.
The Met Department said, the Cyclone Yass has now converted into a low pressure area and it entered into eastern Uttar Pradesh today through Rohtas district of Bihar with a wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.
The Met Department has also ed people of the state to stay away from open spaces and trees. Heavy rain with thunderstorms is likely to take place in eastern parts of the state including districts of Kishanganj, Araria, Supaul, Saharsa and Madhepura. Widespread rainfall and thunderstorms are likely to occur in the state till tomorrow.
