Telangana: Free rice for ration card holders
The state government will provide 20 kg of free rice to each member of the family so that the unemployed do not go hungry due to the lock down. Rice will be provided in June and July.
Lockdown continues in Telangana. It is known that the government imposed a lock down due to the corona. However, many people have lost their jobs due to this lock down and are struggling with the economy. Governments stand by such people. The Telangana government has decided to supply free rice to the poor.
Under the direction of CM KCR, under the auspices of the Civil Supplies Department, 20 kg of free rice will be provided to each person in June and July.
An additional 10 kg of rice will be added to the monthly supply and an additional 2 lakh 53 thousand metric tonnes of rice will be given in June for an additional 78 lakh metric tonnes.
The government has decided to provide five kilos free of cost in July. It is learned that in addition to the 15 kg provided for 53 lakh 56 thousand cards identified by the Central Government in the ration to be provided in June, the State Government provided 15 kg free of cost to 33 lakh 86 thousand cardholders in the first phase lockdown from May to October free of cost.
Once again, 15 kg of rice is being provided free of cost as in the previous 12 kg. The Telangana government will also provide this benefit to the beneficiaries who are not covered by the central government.
