Hyderabad: Singareni turnover grew by 88% in May 2021
Compared to May last year, production grew by 69 per cent, shipments by 127 per cent and overburden removal by 21 per cent.

Sridhar CMD SCCLtd said the company had taken proper precautions even during the Covid period and had achieved better growth in May than last year, with coal shipments at 127 per cent, coal production at 69 per cent, sales at 88 per cent and O.B. CMD said it had registered a growth of 21 per cent in clearance and was working towards the same in the remaining months to achieve the targeted annual coal production of 700 lakh tonnes he called.
Today from the Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad, the Directors held a special review with the General Managers of all areas on matters such as monthly production. On the one hand, Covid congratulated everyone on his happiness in achieving good growth in the month of May in terms of production, effectively coping with the situation.
It produced only 32.2 lakh tonnes of coal in May last year (2020-21), an increase of 69 per cent to 54.4 lakh tonnes in May this year (2021-22), as against 25.5 lakh tonnes in May last year. During the last month, coal shipments grew by 127 per cent to 57.9 lakh tonnes from 29.32 million cubic meters in May last year. Achieving removal is commendable. The result was an 88 per cent growth in turnover.
88 per cent growth with sales of Rs 2,221 crore
The company had sold Rs 1,181 crore in coal and electricity in May last year, up 88 per cent to Rs 2,221 crore in May. In May last year, coal sales were Rs 889 crore and electricity sales were Rs 292 crore. In May this year, coal sales grew by 114.17 per cent to Rs 1,904 crore and electricity by 8.42 per cent to Rs 317 crore. The company had a turnover of Rs 4,267 crore in April and May this fiscal, a growth of 74.98 per cent over the same month last year.
