Karnataka: Govt inducts over 1,700 doctors in service through direct recruitment drive
In a biggest recruitment drive in the Health Department, 1,763 doctors were inducted to the service in Karnataka yesterday.
During the induction programme, Dr. K. Sudhakar appealed to the newly recruited doctors to make government health facilities world class centres for treatment.
Karnataka Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar has said that this is the biggest recruitment drive ever in the state. This is for the first time that the Health Department in the state has directly recruited doctors instead of going through Karnataka Public Service Commission.
He also added that the recruitment process was completed in a record time of six months.
Saying that government hospitals are being looked down upon by many, he asked the new recruits to work towards changing this perception.
He added that poor and marginalised people availing services in the government hospitals must benefit from best service.
