Visakhapatnam: NTPC-Simhadri distributes groceries to homeless and needy people who lost their jobs with Covid Concerns
Fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibility, especially during the 2nd wave of Covid-19 pandemic, NTPC Simhadri has provided groceries for the month of June,2021 to homeless and destitute sheltered in a shelter home run by Visakhapatnam based NGO-Association for Urban and Tribal Development (AUTD).
The NGO provides shelter to 160 no. of homeless and destitute persons in Visakhapatnam. The second wave of COVID-19 has hit the country on a massive scale, leaving the already vulnerable population on the peripheries.
In light of this, Group General Manager of NTPC Simhadri, Shri Diwakar Kaushik and Head of HR, Shri Prem Chand spearheaded the CSR initiative of NTPC Simhadri to extend helping hand for homeless and destitute in the testing times of COVID-19.
Sri K. Prakasa Rao, Dy.Manager (HR/CSR) & CSR team of Simhadri with the zeal and vigour to support the marginalized, handed over the groceries to AUTD, Visakhapatnam extending support to ensure food security for the homeless and abandoned in the Visakhapatnam city for a period of 04 months from June,2021 to September,2021.
