Singareni committed to the environment
Singreni CompanyDirector (Operations) Sri. S. Chandrashekar informed that Singareni Company is working towards environment protection and for the last few years, every year it is planting saplings and till now 5 crores 90 lakh saplings have been planted in 13,170 hectares and they are being grown as forests.
He spoke on the occasion of World environment day on Saturday at Hyderabad Singareni Bhavan after planting trees. He said that Singareni is trying to protect the dying species of trees by giving life to them in it snurseries, OB dumps and empty spaces and growing them into forests. Sand making units are being set up thusreducing the sand consumption from Godavari.
Establishing coal washeries, prevention of water and air pollution has taken up in a large scale and Singareni has won many awards for these measures.Director (Finance,Projects and Planning, PAW) Sri. N. Balaram, Executive Director (Coal movement)Sri. J. Allwyn also participated and spoke along with him in this programme.Director (Finance, Projects and Planning, PAW) Sri. N. Balaram speaking on this occasion explained about the measures taken by Singareni has been appreciated by the Central Forest and environment departments and as per their suggestions environment captains have been appointed in all classes in schools associated with Singareni and propaganda is being done to promote environment protection.
Every year along with the saplings planted by Singareni, it is also planting nearly one crore saplings in the Telangana Haritha Haram program and now the Singareni areas are filled with greenery and it is very heartening to see the workers and their family members participate in the Haritha Haram programme.
He himself has planted more than 11 thousand saplings in the last 2years in Singareni area to promote and encourage environment protection. General Manager (Co-ordination, Marketing)Sri. K. Suryanarayana, Officers union General Secretary N. V. Rajashekar Raoand officials from different departments planted saplings.
Congratulations to Green Challenge: Director Shri. Balaram
Green challenge organization under the leadership of Rajya Sabha member Sri. Santosh kumar participated in this program and handed over a Vanamitra momento to Director (Finance, projects& planning, P) Sri. N. Balaram, one of the top officials of Singareni who personally planted 11,026 saplings and set a record.
Green challengeco-ordinator Sri. C. H. Purushottam said that being a top official planting saplings personally is very encouraging. It also appreciated officials of different departments Sri. RajeshwarRao, AGM (Finance), DGMs Sri. Bhaskar, Marepally Venkateshwar rao, Sri. L.Srinivasa Rao, Sri. Vijendar Reddy, Sri Guruprasad, Sri. Hari Prasad and officers Sri. Dunde Venkatesham, Tyageshwar and Gunashankar and handed over Green Challenge momentoes to them.
