French Open Tennis: Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova enters final in women’s singles
2nd semi-final underway between Maria Sakkari and Barbora Krejcikova
In the French Open Tennis, Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has stormed into the women’s singles final beating Slovenia’s Tamara Zidansek, 7-5, 6-3.
She will vie for her maiden grand slam title against the winner of the second semi final now underway between Maria Sakkari of Greece and Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic.
In the Men’s section, 13-time champion Rafael Nadal and top seeded Novak Djokovic will face each other in the semi final tomorrow.
Nadal entered French Open semi finals for the 14th time beating Argentina’s 10th seed Diego Schwartzman, while Djokovic beat heavy-hitting Italian Matteo Berrettini in an intense duel.
In the other semi final, No. 5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas will face world No. 6 Alexander Zverev.
