CR will set up an all-women team for rake testing of goods at Kalyan Goods Yard
An all-women team of Railway employees carried out intensive examination of freight rake in Kalyan near Mumbai. First time, an all-women team carried out such examination on Central Railway. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also appreciated efforts taken by these women.
Despite the COVID challenges, Railways transport essential commodities and other materials to keep the supply chain in motion.
The freight trains are examined at various nominated locations after certain trips for their rail-worthiness so that the momentum is not broken. First time on Central Railway, women team has been formed at Kalyan Goods Yard for intensive examination of goods rake. One such rake meant for steel loading was examined by an all-women team on 8th of June.
The entire 10-member women team was deployed for under gear examination, air brake testing, examination of under frames and other related repairs. The intensive examination of the rake was completed within four and half hours and was made fit for the next trip.
