NMDC celebrates 7th International Yoga Day
Hyderabad: India’s largest Iron Ore Producer and Navratna Company, NMDC Limited joined in the world-wide celebrations of the 7th International Yoga Day on Monday, 21st June 2021 at the Head Office in Hyderabad and in all its Production Projects and regional offices with synergy and enthusiasm in promoting Healthy India. The objective was to create a greater level of consciousness for yoga for good health among employees and their family members, in line with the theme for IDY 2021 – ‘Yoga for Wellness’.
Leading from the front Shri Sumit Deb, CMD, NMDC actively participated in the Yoga Exercises to motivate the employees and said, “Yoga and Meditation has the potential to helps us live a stress-free healthy and happy life, especially during the pandemic that is testing our physical and mental well being. I urge all of you to practice it every day and make it an integral part of your life.”
Shri P.K. Satpathy, Director (Production); Shri Alok Kumar Mehta, Director (Commercial); Shri Somnath Nandi, Director (Technical) and all HoDs of NMDC Head Office actively participated in the Yoga session.
NMDC, in association with Namaste India Foundation & Vishwa Yoga Vidyapeeth, organized a practical demonstration of Common Yoga protocols at the NMDC Building, wherein Yoga Teachers –
Shri Brij Bhushan Purohit and Shri Ravi Kumar along with two trainers demonstrated the yoga asanas. Employees actively practiced and followed the Yoga Aasanas and Pranayam Kriya led by them. Similarly, yoga sessions were organized in all NMDC projects and outstation offices where employees, their families and local people participated enthusiastically. Due to Pandemic, an online link on yoga demonstration was shared to all employees and they practiced yoga at their comfort from homes #BeWithYogaBeAtHome.
It is pertinent to mention that NMDC has always been in the forefront towards pursuing the Government initiatives and programmes such as Swachha Bharat, Make In India, Digital India and Skill India.
