WTC Final: 4th day’s play between NZ and India washed out completely due to rain
In the Men’s Cricket World Test Championship final at Southampton, the fourth day’s play between New Zealand and India was washed out completely due to rain without a ball being bowled.
At the draw of stumps yesterday, New Zealand were 101 for two in their first innings in response to India’s 217. Captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor were at the crease. For India, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma scalped one-wicket each.
The weather-hit match in southern England has a reserve day to make up for lost time.
The one-off match marks the culmination of a two-year cycle of the inaugural World Test Championship launched in 2019.
