Hyderabad: Govt ENT hospital records more than 500 surgeries in May, 1,400 black fungus cases
The Hyderabad-based Government ENT Hospital has held over 500 surgeries in May during the ongoing Covid second wave.
Head of Department and Senior Doctor Dr Sudarshan Reddy informed AIR Correspondent that over 1400 black fungus cases have been reported at the hospital, which is a nodal hospital for Mucormycosis.
He said most of them have been treated by early identification. He said the mortality rate has been thus brought down in Telangana due to the preventive measures that have been taken in the state.
