Hyderabad: Rs 1,000 Cr for CM Dalit empowerment: Mariamma Lockup’s death is a move in the Telangana govt
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao said that Dalits should develop socially and economically.
The All party met at Pragati Bhavan on Sunday. The program discussed the modalities of the ‘CM Dalit Empowerment’ scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, CM KCR said, “Dalits should develop socially and economically. Tomorrow generations will suffer if the government is negligent. We will take action in stages for the betterment of Dalits. Eligible families among Dalits should be counted.
Starting with help from those at the bottom .. Their progress should be monitored through technology. In this budget, we will allocate Rs 1,000 crore to the CM Dalit Empowerment. The government is ready to raise another Rs 500 crore. The government plans to spend Rs 40,000 crore over the next four years.
My determination is to make the CM Dalit Empowerment a success. The All India Congress should give instructions for the advancement of the Dalits.
The problems of rural and urban Dalits need to be identified and solutions sought. The policy of non-payment of dalits for Dalit empowerment is similar to that of the Raitubandhu scheme and support pensions.
Dalits are the name given to the socially and economically oppressed communities everywhere from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, hence the need to go through this suffering. CM KCR asked all party leaders to give appropriate instructions on what the Telangana government should do to move the Dalit community forward with the self-confidence that they too can make progress.
Congress leader Bhatti, MIM MLA Pasha Qadri, CPI leader Chadha Venkatreddy and CPM leader Tammineni Veerabhadram were present on the occasion. It is learned that the BJP has decided to stay away from the all-party meeting.
However, Motkupalli Narsimhulu ignored the BJP’s orders. The BJP is serious about not attending the meeting of Dalit leaders in the BJP office.
