Jharkhand: CM congratulates Atanau Das, Deepika Kumari for winning Gold in recurve mixed team event
In Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has congratulated the Mixed Archery Team of Atanu Das and Deepika Kumari, who are real life couples as well for winning Gold for India in the Mixed Recurve Archery Final defeating the Netherlands by 5-3 at World Archery Championship in Paris today.
Mr Soren also congratulated the Indian Women’s Recurve Team of Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari from Jharkhand to win the finals of Women’s Recurve Final World Cup Stage 3 at World Archery Championship defeating Mexico by 5-1.
Komalika Bari is the first Women Archer from Ho scheduled tribe to bring laurels to the country by winning Gold.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in his 78th edition of Mann Ki Baat had also mentioned about Deepika Kumari, who has faced several hardships in her life to emerge as the World Champion in Archery and is the sole Indian Women Archer to qualify for Tokyo Olympics 2020.
