AP: Additional income to farmers through food processing units: Minister Kannababu
Agriculture Minister Kannababu said the government was taking steps to set up food processing units at a total cost of Rs 2,600 crore in every parliamentary constituency in the state to benefit farmers.
He spoke to the media on Monday in Krishna district Nuziveedu. Food processing units will be set up with modern machinery and made available to farmers.
These units will provide support price to the crops. He explained that farmer assurance centers have been set up in the villages and customer hiring centers are also being set up in addition to these.
He also mentioned that integrated agri labs are being set up in every constituency center. He said that godowns are also being constructed in addition to the farmer assurance centers.
“We are taking steps to provide quality equipment to farmers at affordable prices,” he said. Incentives are being provided to farmers to increase the acreage of orchards.
