Hyderabad: ni-msme  celebrates its 59th Foundation Day      

Hyderabad: National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme), the pioneer entrepreneurship development institute of Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India celebrated the 59th Foundation Day on 1st July 1, 2021 (Thursday) virtually with Chief Guest as Padma Shri (Prof) Anil. K. Gupta, IIM, Ahmedabad (Rtd.) and other dignitaries including Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director General, MANAGE; Prof. A V Narsimha Rao, Director, ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad; Shri. V. Ramu Sarma, Editor, The Hans India; Shri. Abburu Venkateswararao, Branch Head, Axis Bank, Madhura Nagar, Hyderabad; Ms. S. Glory Swarupa, Director General, ni-msme, faculty and staff members of ni-msme.

Set up in 1962, ni-msme has completed 947 research and consultancy projects. Conducted 16,200 programmes benefitting 5,48,815 Indian stakeholders. ni-msme has trained 10,623 International Executives representing 143 countries. It has expanded its reach to embrace the entire developing world and also associated with prestigious organisations such as ITEC, TCS-CP, UNIDO, UNESCO, ILO, CFTC, UNICEF, AARDO, GIZ, DCAC, IICT, IIMT, IIMN, IIFT and DTU.

During the online ceremony, three certificate courses with ICFAI Law School were launched viz. Insolvency & Bankruptcy, Goods and Service Tax and Trademark Registration by Prof. A V Narsimha Rao, Director who remarked “This is just the beginning of the relationship between ICFAI University and National Institute for MSME”.

Ms. S. Glory Swarupa, Director General, National Institute for MSME (ni-msme) also signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director General, National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) who highlighted that importance of MSMEs in the current pandemic scenario and partnership with ni-msme will go a long way in helping MSMEs spread across the country.

Midle of the post

During the Launch of Diamond Jubilee Logo of National Institute of MSME, Madam Swarupa emphasized the need of “excellence” in the activities pursued by ni-msme employees, entrepreneurs and MSMEs to benefit the society at large. Chief Guest Prof. Padma Shri (Prof) Anil. K. Gupta gave a detailed presentation on “A challenge driven innovation based entrepreneurship model” in which Mudra of Excellence – depicted in the logo of ni-msme was appreciated.

Prof. Gupta also introduced the concept of “Network Entrepreneurship” that focusses on the spirit of cooperation and competition simultaneously through distributed and decentralized supply chains and manufacturing. He also suggested having “Innovation Clubs” to encourage innovations that incentivize and inspire others.

Prize winners were also announced for the quiz competition held a day prior to the event, on the history and legacy of ni-msme based on the coffee-table book The ni-msme nuggets. Shri. V Ramu Sarma, Editor, The Hans India extended their greetings to ni-msme family for celebrating the 59th foundation day and highlighted the importance of MSMEs in our economy and wished.

Axis Bank team that also greeted their wishes to nimsme family by offering to open the  special salary account for the staff of the ni-msme. During the day a plantation drive was also organized at the ni-msme campus wherein all staff members planted saplings. The event was concluded by the Vote of Thanks to all the dignitaries, guests , faculty members and supporting staff of ni-msme family.
