Thawarchand Gehlot sworn in as 19th Governor of Karnataka

Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Thawarchand Gehlot was sworn in as 19th Governor of Karnataka today.

Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Abhay Srinivas Oka administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Governor.

The outgoing Governor Vajubhai Vala, Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yediyurappa, legislative assembly Speaker Viveshwar Hegde Kageri, upper House Chairman Basavaraj Horatti and council of ministers were present on this occasion.

With 50 years of experience in public life Shri Gehlot has served as Union Minister, parliamentary board member and as member of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
