Odisha: Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra among Covid regulations at Puri

In Odisha, all rituals including the pulling of the Raths during  the Rath Yatra today have been completed smoothly in Puri.

All the three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra reached the Sri Gundicha temple ahead of the schedule, being pulled by the servitors.

Even as the the Grand Avenue that runs a stretch of about three kms from Sri Mandir to Sri Gundicha temple was sans the general devotees due to COVID-induced curfew, the majestic chariots of the deities were pulled along by the temple servitors to reach the destination ahead of time.

The deities will be on sojourn there for nine days before coming back to Sri Mandir on the holy occasion known as Bahuda Yatra or the return car festival. Devotees near and far witnessed the grand festival through a small screen to seek the lord’s blessings.
