Telangana has been put on alert by Met officials stating that it is likely to witness widespread rains for next two days. They informed that heavy to very heavy downpour is likely at many places and extremely heavy rain likely at isolated places. The Met officials issued a red alert for over half a dozen districts including Komaram Bhim Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagityal, Peddapalli, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
About dozen other districts have been put on orange alert stating that several places likely to get heavy rainfall. They further said moderate to heavy rainfall likely at other districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Suryapet, Nalgonda districts.
Meanwhile, several water bodies and irrigation projects including Priyadarshini Jurala Project and Srisailam Dam in Krishna basin are receiving huge inflows following incessant rains in the catchment areas for the last few days. Jurala received over 1 lakh 10 thousand cusecs of inflows while Srisailam Dam received over one lakh 50 thousand cusecs of water.
