Both houses adjourned till 2 pm due to ruckus over Pegasus snooping, farm laws & other issues

Both the houses of Parliament continued to face disruptions over Pegasus snooping, farm laws and other issues. Both the houses were adjourned due to the ruckus till 2 P.M.

When the Lok Sabha met after third adjournment at 12.30 PM, members from Congress, DMK, TMC and other Opposition parties trooped to the well raising slogans over the issues.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal appealed to the agitating members to allow the House to function and raise their issues in proper manner.

As the noisy scenes continued, the Presiding Officer adjourned the house till 2 P.M. Earlier, amid uproar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tried to run the Question Hour. He repeatedly urged the agitating members to allow the House to function as several important issues are listed for discussion. As ruckus continued, Mr. Birla adjourned the house.

Midle of the post

The scene was no different in the Rajya Sabha. When the House reassembled after the first adjournment at 12 noon, members from Congress, TMC, Left and others again trooped into the well raising slogans. Members from DMK, SP, RJD and others were on their feet.

Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi criticised the agitating members saying the kind of language being used by them against Prime Minister Narendra Modi is objectionable. He said the agitating members are also violating COVID protocols. Amid ruckus, Deputy Chairman Harivansh tried to run Question Hour but in vain. Later, the house was adjourned till 2 P.M.

Earlier in the morning, when  the house assembled for the day,  members from Congress, TMC and others tried to draw the attention of the chair towards the adjournment motions on Pegasus snooping, farm laws  and other issues. Later, members from Congress, TMC, Left and others trooped into the well raising slogans.

Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu said, the disruption of the proceedings are detrimental to the interest of Parliament and the country. He asked the agitating members to think about their conduct in the house. As the pandemonium continued, Mr. Naidu adjourned the house till 12 noon.
