The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, through a televised message noted that in the second wave of coronavirus the country had to face several challenges due to the ever-changing form of this virus could bring before us. He had assured the nation that the Central government was committed to providing free coronavirus vaccinations to all. With a view to expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination, the English and Foreign Languages University, organized a Free COVID-19 Vaccination Camp at its headquarters in Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, stressed the need to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus and urged the staff to continue following the Covid protocols. He encouraged the members of the teaching and non-teaching staff to avail themselves of the opportunity and spread the message across. He expressed his satisfaction that more than a hundred and fifty staff members had registered themselves and have been vaccinated.
The Free COVID-19 Vaccination Camp was organized by the University in collaboration with the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare. The camp stored adequate stock of Covishield and Covaxin vials.
Trained medical teams from DH and FW and doctors from the University Health Centre oversaw the smooth conduct of the Camp.
Prof. Revathi Srinivas, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. K. Narasimha Rao, Registrar-in-Charge, Prof. Sujata Mukiri, Dean, Campus Planning and Development were also present on this occasion.
