1st Test: England were 159 for 8 in the first innings against India at Nottingham
In the opening test match of five-match series with England at Tent Bridge in Nottingham, England were 159 for 8 wicket when report last came in. Earlier the hosts won the toss and elected to bat.

Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav left for the United Kingdom to join the Indian Test team. Flying in from Colombo, the duo is expected to straightaway head to Nottingham after reaching London and be on hard quarantine before they are available for selection.
