Hyderabad: Singareni Calories Company Limited has surpassed the corona conditions in the first four months of this financial year and recorded a remarkable growth in coal and power generation.
During the four-month period from April to July this year, Singareni set a record turnover of Rs 8,180 crore through coal and electricity sales. This is a 72 per cent increase over Singareni’s turnover of Rs 4,748 crore during the same period last year. In the first four months of this financial year alone, Singareni posted a record profit of Rs 800 crore. The company, which had a net loss of Rs 303 crore during the same period last year, has grown by 364 per cent year-on-year on a record turnover.In the first four months of this fiscal, Singareni had a turnover of Rs 6,949 crore, up from Rs 3,816 crore in the year-ago period, an increase of 82 per cent over the same period last year.
The Singareni Thermal Power Station at Jaipur in Manchiriala district is also progressing with good turnover and profits. During the first four months of this fiscal, power sales were Rs 1,231 crore, up 32 per cent from Rs 932 crore in the year-ago period.Mr. N. Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director, Singareni, congratulated the workers and officials on this. He said the corona prevention measures taken at Singareni last year had yielded good results and the workers and officers were performing their duties confidently and enthusiastically. Employees were asked to work with the same inclination for the remaining 8 months.
Singareni said the company was changing its market strategy to suit the current situation and was getting good demand from consumers across the country and was moving ahead with plans to supply up to 700 lakh tonnes of coal this year.
