Singareni officials visits Odisha for acquisition of forest and revenue lands for new mines

Coal analytical lab constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 Cr near Abgul inaugurated

As per the instruction of Chairman and Managing Director Sri N.Sridhar, a team of top Singareni officials toured the capital of Odisha on Monday and Tuesday (23rd and 24th August) for some permissions relating to the 2nd phase of Naini block taken up by Singareni and the huge ‘New Patrapada’ coal block being taken up.

Advisor Mining Sri. D.N. Prasad, ED Coal movement Sri. J. Allwyn, Advisor Naini Sri. Vijaya Rao, GM Naini Sri. M. Suresh and others participated in the tour headed by Director Projects and Plannting, Finance & P Sri. N. Balaram.

The team met and requested the Odisha State Revenue department Principal Secretary Sri. Bishnu Pada Sethi and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Sri. Sisir Kumar Ratho with regard to the allocation of forest lands for the second Phase of Naini coal block and help in the land acquisition for the New Patrapada coal block allocated to Singareni by the Central Government. All permissions have already been accorded for the first phase of Naini coal block.

The team explained that in the last 3 months of this financial year 10 lakh tones of coal would be produced from Naini coal block and after that every year 100 lakh tones of coal is to be produced.  Hence the Singareni team requested that the permissions required for Stage-2 may be accorded. Odisha officials reacted positively towards the Singareni proposal.

Since coal production would start in the coming 4 months from Naini coal block, the team visited Balaram Railway siding near to Mahanadi coal fields to study the possibility of transporting coal through rail routes. They discussed about the possibility of coal transport with the railway officials.

Coal Analytical Lab set up with an investment of Rs. 2 crores inaugurated.

Singareni set up a Coal Analytical Lab with an investment of Rs 2 crores  near Angul district in line with the Naini block, the centre was inaugurated by Director (P&P, Finance & P) Sri. N. Balram. Latest coal analysis machines have been set up in the centre. Drilling core testing at the centre would play an important part in analyzing complete drilling, coal grade, quality, coal layer spread and other issues before the coal digging at Naini block. Along with Naini coal other coal production companies also can utilize the services of the laboratory.

On this occasion Singareni officials team planted saplings in the premises of the laboratory. DGM Sri. Ravindra P. Chowdary, DGM (Marketing) Sri. Marepalli Venkateshwarlu and other officials participated in this program.
